LIBRARY OF THINGS

You can check out more than just books at the Eureka Public Library!

​A Library of Things is a collection of items for loan that expands the boundaries of traditionally defined library materials.

cd player
If you want to listen to audiobooks or music CDs, but you don't have a CD player any longer - you can check one out from the library! Comes with instruction manuals and AUX cable. Available for a one week checkout.

Must be 18 years of age or older to check out. Available to check out only from the adult circulation desk. Bring the card from the Library of Things holder mounted on the wall next to the copier on the main floor. 

​Late fee: $1 per day
disc golf set
We have one Disc Golf Set available for one week checkout.

Set contains: bag, mini disc marker, 2 driver discs, 2 mid range discs, 2 putter discs.

document camera
There is a new document camera available for checkout. It is compatible with Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Microsoft Teams for distance learning. Will need to download software to use. May need a USB cable, HDMI cable, or SD card. Available for a one week checkout.

drones
The library has two remote-controlled drones available for one week checkout. Records video and takes photos with smartphone app (iOS and Android). Comes with instruction book, extra batteries, battery charger, and replacement propellers.

games
The library has a variety of games available for checkout. Games check out for two weeks.

hotspots (T-Mobile)
Available for a one week checkout. Can connect up to 15 devices including gaming consoles, phones, laptops, and more. Handy for traveling, although not all locations may have appropriate wi-fi service.

​Must be 18 years of age or older to check out. Hotspots are only available to patrons with a Eureka Public Library card. Patrons must call library or ask at adult circulation desk to request.

Late fee: $5 per day
Karaoke Machine
​The library has a portable Karaoke Machine available for checkout.

Comes with: box, karaoke machine with shoulder strap, 2 microphones, USB charging cable, quick start guide, and user manual.

kill-a-watt ez meter
Check out our easy-to-use Kill-a-Watt device and find out how much energy your appliances are using! Kill-a-Watt reader and instruction booklet are available for a one week checkout with your library card.

loom knitting kits
The library has several loom knitting kits available for a two week checkout in a variety of sizes. Comes with needle, loom, and instructions. Free yarn is also available.

Kits and yarn can be found on the bottom shelves of the Large Print book section on the main floor.

nintendo entertainment system classic edition
Comes with 30 pre-loaded classic Nintendo games and two controllers. Requires HDMI port on a tv or computer. Available for a one week checkout.

Pickleball set
We have one Pickleball Set available for one week checkout.

Set contains: bag, user manual, 2 paddles, 4 balls (2 indoor, 2 outdoor).

Portable Video Player
​The library has a Portable Video Player available for checkout.

Comes with: bag, portable video player, user manual, remote control, AC charger, 3-in-1 AV cable, car charger.

projectors
The library has two projectors available for a one week checkout. The mini projector comes with instruction manuals, AV and HDMI cords, and can wirelessly screen mirror from smartphone. The full-size projector comes with an instruction manual, USB cable, and 15-pin VGA cable.

puzzles
The library has a variety of jigsaw puzzles available for checkout. Puzzles check out for two weeks.

They are located on the bottom shelves of the book display across from nonfiction on the main floor.

screen
The library has a screen available for one week checkout. Note: item is heavy and requires about 7 ft of space to transport.

Seeds
​The library offers a free seed library open to everyone (no library card required). A wide variety of vegetable seeds are available and some flower and herb seeds as well. To keep the seed library collection growing, we encourage borrowers to donate harvested seeds at the end of the growing season or donate commercially packaged seeds.

​More information and resources are located in the seed library area next to the audiobooks on the main floor.
Slides, Negatives, & Film converter
Convert your family treasures to digital photos to preserve them and share with others. The converter works with most common types of film: 35 mm, 110, 126, and Super 8 film, slides, and negatives. Has an instant preview screen, so you can review before you scan it. Requires a SD/SDHC memory card (up to 32GB). Available for a one week checkout.

VHS-TO-DVD converter
Convert your family VHS tapes, camcorder tapes, and memory cards to DVD to preserve them and share with others. Comes with an instruction book. Requires a VHS player or camcorder and read/write blank DVDs. Available for a one week checkout​.

VR HEADSET
We have one Virtual Reality Headset available for one week checkout. Works with iOS or Andriod smartphones (screen measuring 4.7" to 5.9" diagonally). Download free VR apps from your app store.
