Reading Colors Your World
This year’s theme focuses on colors and the many ways that reading can expand your world through kindness, growth, and community. Libraries and readers will be encouraged to get creative, try new things, explore art, and find beauty in diversity.
Registration opened starting May 15! Register by June 11 to be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawings. Stop in to the library and pick up your Summer Reading Program passport and fill out your sign-in sheet! The program begins June 1 and will run through July 9. New for 2021, we will be keeping paper sign-in sheets at the library for each registered participant. Simply read 2 hours per week, sign your sheet at the library weekly, and if you complete 5 of the 6 weeks you'll be entered in our Grand Prize Drawings! Participants in ALL age groups will receive a prize when signing in for the week! All reading counts! Audiobooks, graphic novels/comics, magazines - whatever you like to read. Being read to also counts for both parties! Read a book and color your world! |

Everyone at the Eureka Public Library would like to extend a huge thank you to each of the businesses and community members who provided opportunities for field trips, art supplies, gift cards, coupons, and prizes during the 2021 Summer Reading Program, Reading Colors Your World. Summer Reading is a community effort and we are so grateful for the support!

Is there a deadline to register?Sort of. Registration will be open from May 15 all the way through the end of the program on July 9. However, if you want to be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawings you must register before 6:00 pm on Friday, June 11. Can I register online?Yes! If you're unable to come in to the library, there will be an online registration option at this link. We'll fill out your sign-in sheet for you, and you can call or email us for your weekly sign-in! And you can receive your weekly prizes through Porch Pickup or Outreach! Can someone else sign my sheet for me?Sure! Since we'll still need to limit the number of patrons in the library at one time, we are 100% okay with one person signing all of the sheets for their family. Do all age groups need to read 2 hours per week?Yep! Although all of this is on the honor system, we highly encourage patrons of all ages to hit the 2 hour mark each week. That's just 20 minutes per day for 6 days out of the week! |
When can I sign my sheet?Once you've read for at least 2 hours, you are able to sign your sheet anytime the library is open! You'll sign for Week 1 only during Week 1, sign for Week 2 only during Week 2, etc. Just be sure to have your sheet signed before we close at 6:00 pm on Friday of each week!
We made the handy-dandy chart below to help keep track!
